On January 20, 2013, Nate Taylor penned the following words in his journal: "The big realization is that I may have finally realized that all I want to do with my life is music...okay, let's set a loose game plan...play guitar, write some tunes." The next day he returned home to NYC with his father's guitar and the conviction to learn to play. Over the next three years he furiously learned the guitar, wrote songs, drove around the United States, and relocated to Boston. The release of the album Harboring Hope marks a significant milestone in Nate's budding career. Recorded in a mere two sessions in February 2016, Nate's first full length release captures eleven of his most distinctive songs and serves as a snapshot of his art 3 years into this new journey.
Often compared to Nick Drake for his intricate fingerpicking and alternate guitar tunings, Nate's classical vocal background results in a sound that is all at once unexpected, refreshing, and ethereal. His songs hit the major themes of love, purpose, and loss and draw influence from the likes of John Irving, Norman Maclean, and William Butler Yeats. Live performances are a true experience, as Nate paints a complete soundscape with his complex, varied guitar accompaniments and soaring vocals.
Pre-order the album and hear the first single 'Yeats' on May 19 at natetaylormusic.net.
