Classical Guitarist Zachary Johnson will be performing on February 21, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa, 11400 Morris Bridge Road, Tampa, FL. He will be performing a program featuring an eclectic mix of the classical guitars repertoire, from the traditional Spanish repertoire, Latin music, Baroque, jazz, to modern works. The program will feature the works of Jobim, Weiss, Tarrega, Barrios, and more. The event is free and open to the public.
A native of Sarasota, Zachary Johnson is a young classical guitarist whose talent has already been recognized with numerous awards. He has performed in venues across the United States for recitals, competitions, and festivals.
Aside from his performing career, Zachary is also an active teacher. He is currently professor of guitar at St. Petersburg College, and has served as adjunct professor at Stetson University, Florida State University, Tallahassee Community College. He has served as faculty for summer festivals such, as CICA Music Festival, and the East Carolina University Guitar Workshop. He is currently the founder and creator of the Suzuki guitar program at Sarasota Suzuki Institute, and the Director of the Mini-Recital and Lecture Series for GuitarSarasota.
