Welcome to the registration page for my 5th annual golf tournament! My name is Troy Murphy, I'm a mogul skier from Bethel, ME who represents the U.S. Ski Team on the World Cup Tour. I was the 2015 National Champion, 2014 World Cup Rookie of the Year, and am coming off of my most successful World Cup season to date as the #1 ranked American!
On Sunday, October 8th of Columbus Day Weekend I'll be running my annual golf tournament to help fund my upcoming Olympic Season! These tournaments started 5 years ago when I was trying to find ways to fund my ski career. My preparation and competition seasons typically amount to around $30,000, a budget that I needed to fund all on my own. Due to my success this winter, I've finally qualified for the U.S. Ski Team's A Team! This means that all my training, travel, and competition related expenses are covered (such a relief!). My funding goals have just become much easier, because now I just have to cover my basic living expenses.
As for whatever extra funds we raise, I'd like for us to rally together and help support more local athletes following a similar path to mine. You're likely aware of how much effort has gone into making these fundraisers a success, and I would hate for that work to end. Its always been my goal to run these fundraisers after I was done with them, and for this year Id like to start by donating additional funds raised to the Sunday River Ski and Snowboard Club. The Club has been extremely supportive of my journey, and I want to return the favor by helping young athletes in the Sunday River community realize their on-snow dreams.
So, gather a team and swing up to Bethel, ME on October 8th! I'd be thrilled to have you join my Olympic journey, and would greatly appreciate your support of the Sunday River Ski and Snowboard Club.
