An Evening with Arlo Guthrie
Touring now as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration of "Alice's Restaurant", Arlo will return for a special solo performance on TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2016 at the magical, historic Tabernacle, located in the center of the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association in Oak Bluffs, on the island of Martha's Vineyard.

We are thrilled to welcome Arlo's return to the Tabernacle, for what will be the highlight of the Summer Season. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Tabernacle Preservation & Restoration.

Arlo Guthrie was born with a guitar in one hand and a harmonica in the other in Brooklyn, NY in 1947. He is the eldest son of America's most beloved singer/writer/philosopher, Woody Guthrie and Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, a professional dancer and founder of the Committee to Combat Huntington's Disease. Arlo grew up surrounded by incredible musicians, dancers and writers, learning from the likes of Pete Seeger, Ronnie Gillbert, Leadbelly, Brownie McGhee, among others. He gave his first public appearance at age 13 in 1961. His career exploded in 1967 with the release of "Alice's Restaurant" whose title song premiered at the Newport Folk Festival and helped foster a new commitment among the 60's generation to social consciousness and activism.

In addition to his accomplishments as a musician, paying the piano, six and twelve-string guitar, harmonica and a dozen other instruments, Arlo is a natural-born storyteller, whose tales and anecdotes figure prominently in his performances.  He has toured with numerous different shows, "An American Scrapbook" beginning in 1998 with symphony orchestras, The Guthrie Family Legacy Tour, Boys Night Out (with his son Abe Guthrie and grandson, Krishna), The Journey On Tour (Big Band & The Burns Sisters), The Guthrie Family Reunion Tour (the whole family) Here Comes the Kid-The Woody Guthrie Centennial Tour. Interspersed between all the tours was the recurring "Arlo Guthrie Solo Reunion Tour-Together At Last."
