San Francisco-based singer/songwriter Matt Alber is currently touring a new acoustic, WIND SAND STARS. Popular artsongs heavy on melody and vocals, the music is reminiscent of John Grant and Greg Laswell with a dash of Alicia Keys.
Alternating between acoustic guitar and piano, Matt's set includes covers by Bob Dylan, Whitney Houston, Madonna, & AC/DC.
In his own words..."I make records in San Francisco in my bedroom and take them on the road full-time. I love my tribe. I sing about boys and crushes and brotherhood and getting lost in the woods on purpose and some other things.
I grew up singing in choirs. I was often chased home from school. I hated school, except for:
choir practice
double-dutching at recess with LaTonya
Show Choir
Ms. Hiller's English Class
and whenever the hockey team would change clothes in the commons after school.
Right now, I'm crossing my fingers you'll listen to a song or two and maybe come check out one of my shows. You can bring a girlfriend or a boyfriend or two if you want, or just come be a rad single person."
