The Earthcare Festival is a three-day event that will explore the human relationship to Nature in a time of ecological crisis. It will be given at one of the most beautiful properties in western Massachusetts, the William Cullen Bryant Homestead. We kick things off with a pre-festival concert and barbecue on Friday, Sept. 9.On Saturday, Sept. 10, the main festival day, we offer a series of in-depth talks by nationally known figures in forest ecology, sustainability, and environmental writing, as well as poetry readings, music, an art exhibit, and a performance by actress Kaiulani Lee of her much noted one-woman play on the life of Rachel Carson, "A Sense of Wonder." A second day (Sunday, Sept. 11) offers workshops in stewardship issues. Events will be given rain or shine, under tents and in the Homestead's red barn.
