ZOE 6/11 opening: Zombie Origins and Evolutions Project at HAMOC
This event features scenes from the ZOE (Zombie: Origins and Evolution) Project documentary, plus an art exhibition opening featuring artists Ben Salus and Jean-Yves Hector, live music by Rudy Perrault and Sabrina Jean Louis performed by Crossing Borders Music, and live dance by Haitian dancers!
The ZOE project is an international event in Chicago and Haiti in which artists, musicians and dancers collectively work on a series of exhibitions and a feature documentary that examines the origins of the zombie in Haiti and its evolution in America into a modern day pop culture icon. The ZOE project attempts to understand the symbolism, facts and the cultural significance of zombies.
The ZOE project is, in part, supported by a generous grant from The Chicago Community Trust.
