Black Bear Radio & Stupidity: Two One Act Plays
O.G. Theater, a theater company dedicated to the production of new and original works, is putting up two shows in one night; Black Bear Radio and Stupidity.
"Black Bear Radio," directed by Aimee Riegel, depicts an old school 90's rapper named Black Bear hosting a radio show in modern times. Through the course of this episodic piece, Black Bear interviews a number of hip hop artists that are up and coming and tries to discern the direction of the ever changing art. This piece features scenes written collaboratively by local hip hop artists as well as a series of open mic style pieces written by the performers. Performers include Dre Anderson, Anthony Simmons, Faizan Hasnain, Morgan Grody and many more local artists.
"Stupidity," written by Jackie Pomeroy and drected by Chesa Greene, presents two well acquainted cousins spending the night at one of their lofts in Essex. Through the course of the night they find themselves in constant disagreement over one topic or the other as they try to get to the heart of their personal strife. The show is performed by Jon O'Grady and Anthony Lee Phillips.
