KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Christy Porter, Mother, Wife, Daughter, and Friend. Born in Frederick, Oklahoma and raised in southeast Bakersfield. Christy Porter attended Foothill High School, completed her degree in early childhood education, married to her high-school sweetheart, Joey Porter Sr. and is the proud mother of four children. Christy is an advocate for mothers and daughters. She created The Jasmine Nyree Centers Inc. for children with disabilities and recently The Patricia Jean Memorial Scholarship which will give ten, Two- Thousand dollar scholarships to boys and girls.

The Patricia Jean Memorial Scholarship
With the passing of Christys mother Mrs. Patricia Jean on Thanksgiving Day in 2015, Ms. Porter has created - The Patricia Jean Memorial Scholarship which will offer $2,000 scholarships to five (5) high school senior boys and five (5) girls with GPAs of 2.5 or better. This scholarship in memory of her loving mother emphasizes the importance of sacrificing for others and doing community service to meet human need.
Due to the unique historical role African-American women have played in our society, girls must be encouraged to reclaim their minds, bodys, and develop their own definitions of beauty and success. Christy wants young women to develop a new collective reality that nourishes their spiritual need while recognizing their amazing contributions to humankind.

Enjoy the pleasure of afternoon tea and the companionship between mother-daughter, guardian, grandmother, aunt, god mom or of any female family member. The treasured moments of this family bonding experience between daughter and her mother has been treasured for decades by hundreds and the ShePOWER Socialites want to include this tradition in our socials.
A relaxing and delightful afternoon, paying attention to the details is planned for you at the exceptional Seven Oaks Country Club in the Grand Ballroom. Each mother will be able to gift their JR Socialite with a complementary membership, enabling her to partake in an urban sisterhood, to Sparkle, Serve and Socialize.
Each mother and daughter will receive a complimentary keepsake portrait to capture the moment.
