2016 N'DIGO Foundation: Presents "A Jazzy Evening" featuring Kurt Elling and introducing Zemrah
THE 2016 N'DIGO Foundation Gala features GRAMMY award winner jazz artist Kurt Elling in an incredible evening of jazz and introduces jazz vocal stylist Zemrah for a magical night of entertainment.
GRANDE BUFFET and LIBATIONS - 5:00pm
The evening starts with a GRANDE BUFFET in the halls of the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts. It is the place to be with the Who's Who before the evening's entertainment begins. The beautiful people meet and greet for the purpose of education. This is truly a fine dining experience and guaranteed to satisfy the palates of the most discerning.
GALA HONORS - 7:00pm
The N'DIGO GALA honors achievers who have made significant contributions to the community. Video presentations are shared with the audience. Passion a Jazzy Evening will be hosted by Chicago media personality.
A video presentation will highlight the 2016 N'DIGO Foundation Honorees.
ENTERTAINMENT: Kurt Elling and Zemrah - 8:00pm
GRAMMY Award winner Kurt Elling presents a 90 minute show that promises to be spectacular and remarkable.
GRAMMY winner Kurt Elling is among the worlds foremost jazz vocalists. He has won every DownBeat Critics Poll for the last fourteen years and has been named Male Singer of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association eight times in that span. Every one of Ellings ten albums has been nominated for a GRAMMY.
The New York Times declared, Elling is the standout male vocalist of our time. The Washington Post added, Since the mid-1990s, no singer in jazz has been as daring, dynamic or interesting as Kurt Elling. With his soaring vocal flights, his edgy lyrics and sense of being on a musical mission, he has come to embody the creative spirit in jazz.
AFTER PARTY - 11:00pm
The After Party is a club like atmosphere party where the guests have a dancing good time with desserts and endless champagne flowing. Get ready to wowed by the marvelous cocktail chic fashion show attire adorned by the guests. People dance into the wee small hours. Over 21 Only.
VENUE PARKING The parking lot for the venue is located at the corner of Drexel Avenue and 60th Street and is FREE on weekends. Ample street parking will also be available.
ABOUT N'DIGO Foundation
Located in the heart of violence and protests are Chicago's precious youth. The N'DIGO Foundation seeks to develop opportunities for students to follow their dreams by honoring their great achievements with Merit Scholarships. Proceeds from the Gala allow N'DIGO Foundation to provide a minimum of 10 scholarships which range from partial to full tuition. Each recipient is chosen by a blue ribbon committee of educators after submitting a written essay and formal application.
