F.A.Q.s Q: Why did you pick this venue? A: We decided on FareStart because its a wonderful venue and it's a way to give back to the community. FareStart is a non-profit organization that operates a job placement and training program benefiting homeless and disadvantaged men, women, and youth.
Q: Why this weekend? A: We wanted to have the event in the summer so that we have the best shot of having awesome Seattle weather. Due to the varying summer vacation schedules, the month of July was the safest for people with families. We also needed to avoid timing it during the main Seafair events and avoid family holidays around the 4th of July. That left with us only a few weekends to work with and this one was the best.
Q: How did you determine the cost? A: The majority of the cost per person is based on the Alumni Reception venue. The committee has put a deposit in at FareStart to save the date and we have approximated the number of attendees to be 75 based on past reunions. Note that the FareStart venue is able to accomodate a larger crowd if more people sign up. Any funds remaining after paying for the events will be donated to Franklin High School.
Q: Can we go to one event and not the other? A: The main event of the weekend is the Alumni Reception and the committee encourages everyone to attend that event. If you are only able to attend the picnic, we would appreciate it if your family purchases at least one ticket to the Alumni Reception to cover our cost.
Q: Why should I go? A: The 20th reunion only comes once. It's an opportunity to meet up with old friends and be able to catch up with everyone. And really...why not?
Q: What can we do at the School Tour? A: You can check out how much (or how little) things have changed. Stomp the bleachers where many a Spirit Keg were won, take a selfie in front of the keys, or visit the 4th floor swimming pool!
Q: How can we help? A: Spread the word and consider participating in the planning committee meetings held every two weeks. Provide us feedback on what you would like to see at the events.
