Understanding Art: How to Read Art
Join us on May 11, from 7:30-8:30pm, for the second installment of our May lecture series, Understanding Art.
In this installment, "How to Read Art," Pratt Institute's Carol Diamond will discuss the fundamentals of how artists compose a picture and how we read it. She will use some of her own works to demonstrate composition, color theory, texture, and other forces at work in visual art.
Understanding Art is a weekly series designed to give novice collectors and art lovers a better understanding of the history and process of creating contemporary fine art. Each week will feature a different topic and guest presenter. This program will run each Wednesday evening in May (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th), from 7:30-8:30pm and is limited to 15 people. Tickets are $10 per person per session. Wine and bottled water will be provided.
