Event
Walk for HOPE
ENTRY IS FREE, DONATIONS ARE OPTIONAL! Registration starts at 10:00am, testimonials will begin around 11:00am, and the walk to OHV will begin around 11:30am! Food is sold separately. Event staff will be wearing orange shirts, and we'd like for you to wear blue to help us represent the OHV logo colors together. Inspired by a New Jersey homeless awareness walk, the Walk for HOPE will be a unique and memorable event that is sure to leave a lasting impression on our community. Our goal is to raise homeless awareness and widen the support network of volunteers, donors, and meal providers to support a year-round shelter model at Operation HOPE Vista. We will meet at VISTA VILLAGE CREEK on the morning of Saturday, May 7, where we will hear the success stories of past shelter clients. To deepen the experience and simulate just one aspect of homelessness, small groups will then walk together to the OHV shelter (1.3 miles). At the shelter, food vendors will sell refreshments, there will be raffle prizes, tours will take place, and shelter staff will accept new volunteer applications. A portion of food sales and all donations will go directly to Operation HOPE Vista.
