Renew Magazine Older Americans Month Reception
We are pleased to announce that Renew Magazine is celebrating its 3rd anniversary. In collaboration with the City of Oaklands Aging and Adult Services, we are marking the occasion with the 1st Older Americans Month Reception. We will honor individuals who are committed to upholding the tenants of the 1965 Older Americans Act. These distinguished honorees, who serve with compassion and fortitude, will share their knowledge and expertise as they encourage our older folks to RENEW LIFES POSSIBILITIES.
At the reception we will honor Congresswoman Barbara Lee, City of Oakland Aging & Adult Services, Mayor of Oaklands Commission on Aging, Oakland Senior Center Directors, Alameda County Board of Supervisors, Alameda County Commission on Aging, the Alameda County Area Agency on Aging, United Seniors, Congress of California Seniors, Our Family Circle, Allen Temple Senior Center and Wendy Peterson, Senior Services Coordinator. A special award will be presented to Spectrum Community Services, Inc.
The event will be held at the North Oakland Senior Center, located at 5714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way Oakland, CA 94609 from 4:30-6:30pm. Music will be provided by Derrick Hall and Company. Refreshments will be served.
Tickets can be purchased @ brownpapertickets.com. The purchase price is $20.00 and $10.00 for those 70 years and over. Partial proceeds of this event will be presented to The Parkinson Foundation.
