An Evening with Former NASA Astronaut Dr. Stephen Robinson: "This Side of Impossible: Achieving the Dream of Flight"--a Fundraiser for Save KPLU
KPLU Evening Jazz host Abe Beeson will MC!

Live jazz before the show beginning at 6:00 p.m. with 200 Trio featuring Delvon Lamarr!

Dr. Stephen Robinson, a 36-year veteran of NASA's space program, offers an insider's view. This dynamic, multimedia presentation is compiled from his four flights on the space shuttle, including the first Return to Flight mission following the Columbia disaster. The world watched during that high-stakes mission as Robinson became the only person ever to perform an in-flight repair of the shuttle's heat-shield during a heart-stopping, unplanned spacewalk. Breathtaking photos from that expedition, as well as other rarely-seen/heard anecdotes and videos, prove you don't have to visit a space station to experience the wonder and excitement of astronaut life. Fans of the films Interstellar and Gravity won't want to miss this fascinating, factual, behind-the-scenes look at the space program, from one of the top authorities in the field.

Dr. Robinson, a musician and long-time radio fan, is donating his time to support the SAVE KPLU mission.*  The program starts at 7:00 p.m. - with live jazz music starting at 6:00 p.m.!

Doors open at the Museum of Flight's Allen Room at 6:00 p.m.  All net proceeds support the SAVE KPLU effort.

200 Trio is: Max Holmberg, drums; Cole Schuster, guitar; Delvon Lamarr on Hammond B3 organ.

* Donations to the SAVE KPLU campaign help support the goal of maintaining KPLU as an independent, local newsroom with hand-picked and professionally curated jazz and blues, and a continuing commitment to local music education in our community.  Your ticket purchases will support that goal.  Thank you!
