Paula Boggs Band w/ Black Biscuit
Its not every day that you meet a lawyer youd like to hang out with and listen to for hours. But today you get to meet Paula Boggs. Having accomplished more as a lawyer than most lawyers could dream of (White House lawyer, Starbucks GC, the list goes on), Paula now fronts her own band, sings, and writes music. What may seem to be a huge change in direction is less so when explained by Paula. And, unsurprisingly, working joy plays a part in her story. Hear Paulas story about her interesting career path, a different take on diversity, and learn about her superpower. Youll hear some samples of her music during the podcast.
When Paula is not making music, shes making progress. Her media company, Boggs Media, has teamed up with My Brothers Keeper Alliance and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
Black Biscuit is the culmination of numerous hockey related head injuries of the three front men, Mike Moreside, Shane Pierone and John Maxwell. The three literally ran into each other playing hockey in Yakima and found out they had a common musical interest. Mike and Shane played hockey and music together since highschool. When John showed up at the ice rink they now had a full line up and just had to find a drummer. Enter Troy Woody a Yakima native and former member of Neon Cross ( of headbangers ball on MTV). The group added guitarist Wes Michel to round things off after the release of their first CD "Blueline"in 2008. The bands most recent release Up All Night reflects the bands blues rock influence. The alt-powerpop-rock style of the band has been described as "Buddy Holly Meets Generation X" but the band would just call it energy-filled fun Rock and Roll that will make you want to dance and ....perhaps body-check your dance partner.
