Steps Repertory Ensemble and Guests
The Steps Beyond Foundation presents The Steps Repertory Ensemble, New York Season at the Ailey Citigroup Theater for three performances on May 6-8, 2016. The Company will present works by Julia Ehrstrand, Lar Lubovitch, Sidra Bell, Jae Man Joo and by Ensemble Artistic Director, Bradley Shelver.
The May 6th performance is a benefit for the Foundation's new works and dance scholarship funds and promises to be an eclectic evening of dance including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, and theater dance. The program for this special evening includes the Ensemble and guest performances by American Dance Machine, Andrew Nemr/Cats Paying Dues, Jon Ole Olstad as well as performances by Steps On Broadway's Conservatory Program Students and advanced ballet students from The School of Steps. Rounding out the evening will be choreography by Al Blackstone and a staging of a ballet variation by Elena Kunikova. Benefit tickets are $100 and includes the performance and a reception to follow.
On May 7th & 8th, The Steps Repertory Ensemble will present "Valse" by Sidra Bell, a contemporary pointe piece with music by Denis Bell. The program also includes, "RUST" by Swedish Choreographer, Julia Ehrstrand, "The Legend Of Ten" by master choreographer, Lar Lubovitch, excerpts of RECUR by Korean dance maker, Jae Man Joo and "Le Monde Est Fini, Pas De Panique", SCENES and excerpts of "She and Him" by Ensemble Artistic Director, Bradley Shelver.
All performances are at 7:30PM.
