Yotam Ottlenghi Cooking Class at The Field Kitchen: Nopi Cookbook
The Field Kitchen is a mobile series of cooking classes led by veteran Bay Area culinary instructors Frances Wilson and Jen Knapp. This hand-on class is part of a series called The Cookbook Club, where we will explore the recipes from some of the most exciting cookbooks to be published recently. Each class is $130.
Under the guidance of Frances and Jen, you will learn tips and techniques that will make all of these recipes ones that you will be inspired to recreate at home.
The class will run from 11 a.m. 2 p.m. and includes lunch. Feel free to bring wine or beer to share with the meal.
Saturday, May 7th: Nopi by Yotam Ottolenghi and Ramael Scully.
This class is for both the loyal fans of Yotam Ottolenghi and those who have yet to be introduced to this brilliant British chef, restauranteur and prolific cookbook author. Nopi is Ottolenghis fine dining restaurant in London. In these recipes pandan leaves meet pomegranate seeds, star anise meets sumac, and miso meets molasses; reflecting the eclectic cultural mix of Ottolenghis Middle Eastern roots and Nopis chef, Rameal Scullys Asian heritage. If you love bold flavors this is the class for you. We will prepare such dishes as:
-Baby Carrots with Mung Beans with Smoked Labneh and Crisp Pita
-Pearl Barley Risotto with Watercress, Asparagus and Pecorino
-Roasted Duck Breasts with Hazelnut Beer Butter, Red Quinoa and Mushrooms
-Ricotta Fritters with Blackberry Sauce and Chocolate Soil
About Frances and Jen:
Frances is a seasoned food professional who taught the professional culinary program at the renowned Tante Marie's Cooking School in San Francisco for more than ten years and now teaches at the Silverado Cooking School in Napa. Prior to that, she was the chef at Lalimes restaurant in Berkeley.
Jen taught recreational classes and led private culinary events at Tante Marie's Cooking School for 15 years, in addition to working as a private chef and caterer throughout the Bay Area.
Frances and Jen are both endlessly curious about food and cooking and enjoy sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge with others.
Cancellation policy:
A full refund will be issued if we are notified 5 or more days prior to a class. If you cancel a class between 48 hours and less than 5 days, a 50 percent refund will be offered. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the start of a class, we regret that no refunds or credits can be issued, however you are welcome to send someone in your place.
