A Besere Velt & The Klezmatics Present

A Besere Velt, the Yiddish Chorus of Boston Workmen's Circle, collaborates with the internationally acclaimed Klezmer group, The Klezmatics, to present "Tevye's Daughters: Journeys to a Better World." Join us as we celebrate Sholem Aleichem's 100th yortsayt with a concert that explores the question:

Who are Tevye's daughters today?

In his timeless contribution to literature and Jewish culture, Sholem Aleichem captured a poignantly rebellious spirit in the stories of Tevye and his daughters. Immortalized in "Fiddler on the Roof," these young women represent a new generation of free thinkers, grappling with tradition to pursue their dreams. Join us as we imagine, with loving and bittersweet humor, how Tevye's daughters, and subsequent generations, forge a proud new tradition of social activism as revolutionaries, union leaders, Freedom Riders, Wall Street Occupiers, feminists, and militant millennials.

Much more than just an incredible and historic concert, this event will honor Sid Topol, Enid Eckstein and Rosa Blumenfeld for their incredible leadership for social justice within the Workmen's Circle and the community at large.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
