Backyard Concert with the newly formed "The Jones Gang"
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes no, wait, we already used that line probably more like a VW van with 310,000 miles rolling out of the shop again, but heck, here we are, still truckin.
As reported in the entertainment tabloids, Glenn Houston, half of the bands namesake and long-time spirit guide has ridden off into the sunset and left more than just big shoes to fill (really big shoes). We wish Glenn nothing but the best in future endeavors and hope to share the stage with him many times in the future in any format.
The band sat around the proverbial table and none of us were sure exactly where we go from here. The one thing that we were sure about is that we love playing together, so play on we shall.
Thus, please allow us to introduce The Jones Gang. The core band remains and a number of the Bay Areas finest instrumentalists have signed on to collectively fill the aforementioned big shoes. There are a number of exciting shows on the books for Spring and Summer featuring a rotating roster of lead instrumentalists including Mark Karan (The Other Ones, Rat Dog), David Phillips (Peter Rowan, Tom Waits), Todd Swenson (Big Bang Beat, Mary Wells) and more.
As has always been the case, we cant do this without the support of our fans, friends and families, so please spread the word and let folks know about the new name, the new website (http://www.thejonesgang.com), and the new FaceBook page (https://www.facebook.com/The-Jones-Gang-175895722454265) -- PLEASE like us -- thats how promoters gauge popular appeal these days.
