The Last Five Years

Wine Country Theatre presents THE LAST FIVE YEARS, Tony-Award winner Jason Robert Browns poignant and smart contemporary musical of five years in the relationship of an ambitious young writer, Jamie, and his struggling actress wife, Cathy. Funny, uplifting, and told in a unique non-linear form, this show captures some of the most heartbreaking and universally felt moments of modern romance. Cathy tells the story from the end of their marriage; Jamie begins from when they first meet. As the musical unfolds, Cathy moves backward in time to the beginning of the relationship as Jamie moves toward the end; they meet only once, in the middle, at their wedding. Since its Off-Broadway premiere in 2002, Browns funny, poignant, and devastatingly honest two-person production has enraptured audiences around the world with its spellbinding and emotional score and libretto. Packed to the brim with humor, ravishing romance, and an exuberant score, THE LAST FIVE YEARS takes an unforgettable look at the hope that love will endure the test of time.

The show will be presented in the Barrel Room of the Villa San- Juliette Winery in San Miguel.

THE LAST FIVE YEARS will open on Friday, April 8 at 7:30pm and continue through the Sunday matinee on April 24. Performances for THE LAST FIVE YEARS are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm; and Sundays at 2:00pm. Tickets are General Admission and cost $25. Student tickets are $15. Tasting room will be open at 11am during matinees and 6pm during evening performances for refreshments and small bites before the show.
