Few regions offer as much variety - sparkling, white, rose, red and dessert in a variation of styles - and quality. As an early bastion of natural winemaking, with producers such as Coulée de Serrant and Clos Rougeard leading the way, it probably has more amazing producers per capita, or square hectare than anywhere else. You might recognize some of the appellations such as Muscadet and Chinon but there are quite a few lesser known ones that are home to some epic juice. To know the Loire is to love the Loire.
