Each year the Friends of Fallbrook Library selects a notable author and book, to be our Community Wide Read. This year's author is Mr. Hector Tobar, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, and author of Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of the 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine, and the Miracle That Set Them Free. While in Fallbrook, Mr. Tobar will recount the many quandaries that beset the men, and their families, as he discusses the research and writing of this amazing true life story of jealousy and hope, desperation and perseverance. "Whether the story is completely new to you, or if you were one of the millions glued to the news reports and wondering, will they make it physically, emotionally, spiritually youll be greatly rewarded to learn how they did" wrote New York Times reporter, Mac McClelland of Tobars work. The main event, a luncheon and book discussion with Mr. Tobar, will be held at Pala Mesa resort, on Saturday, May 14, 2016. In addition to the discussion, Mr. Tobar will be available for questions and book signing.
Individual tickets or tables, up to 8 individuals, are available for reservation on a first come basis. Groups must pay for the tickets at the same time.
