For those who do not know yet about this venture: our 2nd year of 5 @ 5 at DiMenna is a series of concerts featuring International distinguished pianists from the USA, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Georgia, Lithuania, Russia, China, to name a few. This Series takes place in an area of New York City that is going through revitalization (many new theaters,restaurants, hotels, being built as we speak) called now Hudson Yards and formerly Hells Kitchen.
I believe in making classical music accessible to all and for this I have priced the tickets at only $5 to allow people from all walks of life to participate. I have also scheduled all concerts on Saturdays at 5 PM which allows the audience to attend other events afterwards (theater,dinner, etc) thus the title $5 at 5 PM. Concerts of this caliber in New York are usually priced much higher. We are able to offer these low prices because of the support we have received from many individuals and foundations.The venue is the DiMenna Center for Classical Music located at 450 West 37thStreet, which features a first class recital hall (Mary Flagler Cary Hall) andholds about 300 seats.
