Local favorites Fourteen Strings ( Matt Smith, Dave Conlon, and Jay Costa) bring their blended rock, folk, and traditional music to the historic Dartmouth Grange! With Matt on mandolin, Dave on guitar, and Jay on bass, and all three band members sharing vocals, Fourteen Strings blends classic rock, rock, and alt-country with folk, blues, and traditional music, creating a unique sound that is all their own.

Dave Conlon has been performing his rock-influenced acoustic music in the New Bedford area for many years, playing at venues such as Cafe Arpeggio, New Wave Cafe, Fall River's Belmont Club, the Taunton River Folk Festival, and the esteemed New Bedford Folk Festival on multiple occasions.

Matt Smith has played with traditional and folk groups at a wide variety of venues and festivals for many years, including the Narrows Center for the Arts and the New Bedford Folk Festival. During his career as a performing musician, Matt has shared the stage with many national touring acts.

Jay Costa is a veteran bass player and has played at venues throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic, with far too many bands to count. Jay brings a wealth of musical experience and knowledge to Fourteen Strings.

Fourteen Strings has been influenced by many diverse artists, including Radiohead, David Grisman, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Jerry Garcia, Tim O'Brien, The Old 97's, Darrell Scott, The Decemberists, Buffalo Springfield, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Wilco, The Grateful Dead, John Prine, R.E.M., Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash.
