Vibrant (Vegan) Seasonal Dips & Spreads / With JUSTUS KITCHEN

Join Pollinate Farm & Garden Supply and JUSTUS KITCHEN as we learn to use spring produce, foraged leaves, sprouted nuts, and herbs to create colorful and delicious accompaniments to your favorite breads and crackers.
During this workshop, ingredients that are abundantly available in the Bay Area during April - stinging nettles, lemons, strawberries, garlic, scallions, kale, etc. - are going to be transformed into sunflower seed pate, strawberry salsa, and stinging nettle kale pesto. We will discuss how each ingredient is prepared to illicit the most flavor and you will take home recipes and samples of each dip.
Instructor: Jocelyn Jackson's passion for seasonal food, social justice, creativity, and community is rooted in a childhood spent on the Kansas plains, where her diverse, vibrant family would sing a song before sitting down at the table to share a soulful meal.
Since then, Jocelyn practiced law, taught environmental science and ethics, became a yoga instructor, and created performance and visual art. Her inspiring international experiences include serving in the Peace Corps in West Africa, and teaching in an ecovillage in Southern India. She's presented on the principles of community nourishment at Court Bouillon in Southern France, and back home in Oakland for the Fusion of Food and Yoga series at Anasa Yoga.
Jocelyn enjoys collaborating with a wide range of wonderful people and organizations including People's Community Market, Bryant Terry, People's Kitchen Collective, Impact HUB Oakland, MOAD, Kitchen Table Advisors, YES!, Late Nite Art, and Pollinate Farm & Garden Supply.
Jocelyn is beginning her fourth year of full hearted cooking. She founded JUSTUS KITCHEN to continue to create food experiences that inspire people to reconnect with themselves, the earth, and one another. And she still starts every meal with a song.
