Earth Angel Farm and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital Winter Conference 2016
Earth Angel Farm and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital are hosting a Winter Conference on Saturday, February 27, 2015 at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital 8747 Squires Lane, NE, Warren , Ohio 44484. This Conference will bring national experts on Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Autism, and Horticulture therapy to our community. The speakers will give an overview and update on these topics. Attendees will have increased awareness and understanding of the unique obstacles and challenges that maybe faced in living with these disorders. Healthy life style practices in exercise, nutrition and emotional well-being will be covered.

Speakers: Melissa Kerr, CIDN, RYT-200, PT, 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). She has over 18 years of experience as a physical therapist. In 2014 she received her 200 hour yoga teacher training certification through Yoga Alliance. Melissa's knowledge and training allows attention to modifications and alternative postures for individuals in attendance that may have underlying health concerns or issues.
Barbara Kreski, M.H.S., OTR/L, HTR, is the Director of Horticultural Therapy Services Chicago Botanic Garden. She holds a master's degree in health sciences with a concentration in neuroscience and an undergraduate degree in occupational therapy as well as voluntary registration as a horticultural therapist. Imad Najm, M.D. is Director of Cleveland Clinic's Epilepsy Center at the Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute. Dr. Najm has over 175 scientific publications on epilepsy. He has been invited to over 150 national/international presentations and visiting professorship.
Nicole Ranttila, PsyD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She is in private practice in Boardman, Ohio. Dr. Ranttila provides outpatient psychotherapy and assessment for children, adolescents, families, and couples. She specializes in depression, anxiety, familial difficulties, play therapy, ADHD, autism spectrum, and disruptive disorders in children and adolescents.
Christopher A. Sheppard, M.D. is a neurologist and MS expert of the Oak Clinic for Multiple Sclerosis, Uniontown, Ohio. Dr. Sheppard is also Chief of Neurology at both NEOUCOM and Akron General Medical Center. He is also a member of the Medical Advisory Council of the Ohio Buckeye chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Krista A. Smith, BGS, SWT. She is currently continuing her education as a graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at YSU, and will graduate in May 2016. She teaches as a NETA Certified Group Exercise Instructor. Krista is a Spencer Institute Certified Wellness Coach and a Lifestyle and Weight Management Specialist. Krista is passionate towards helping all people, especially those with chronic illness and progressive disease, to live their "best life possible".
Benjamin Walter, M.D. is Director of the Parkinson's & Movement Disorders Center and Medical Director of the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. In addition, he holds the Penni and Stephen Weinberg Chair in Brain Health and an Associate Professor of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Max Wiznitzer, MD, is a pediatric neurologist in the Neurologic Institute at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. He is Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Wiznitzer has presented more than 50 abstracts at national medical meetings and more than 200 lectures to medical meetings as well as community, parent and education groups, speaking on autism, ADHD and other topics in pediatric neurology and development.
