Sake Tasting

New to sake? This incredible drink has an intriguing history with a million ways to enjoy it. Premium Japanese Sake is to regular Sake what Blantons is to Old Crow. Sake is brewed like beer, is not much stronger than wine and far less than distilled spirits.

Types of Sake:

Nigori: unfiltered, creamy
Junmai: 'pure,' undiluted, 30% of the grain polished away
Ginjo: minimum 40% of the grain polished away
Diaginjo: minimum 50% of the grain polished away

This is made for entry level drinking and great for making cocktails. Here are 3 that we'll try at the tasting:

"Typhoon Mary": Try this twist on the Bloody Mary by adding equal parts Typhoon to your favorite vodka.
"Godzillapolitan": Shake up your standard Cosmo by substituting Typhoon for citrus vodka.
"Sake Sunrise": Replace tequila with Typhoon -- add orange juice and grenadine and toast to this fine brew from the Land of the Rising Sun!

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 the day of event. This event offers a "Buy What You Try" - all sakes purchased night of the event will be discounted, and prepaid multi-bottle orders will received an additional discount.
