Our theater production is one which explores the lives and deaths of the non-violent resistance group called "Die Weiße Rose," who was comprised of University students in Nazi occupied Munich during World War II. These students utilized the written word to start a resistance movement, and are a great example of effective non-violent protest and proved that ideas and art can change the course of a country.
This performance was collaboratively devised by a small group of young, Minneapolis based theater artists; Emily Rose Duea, Mandy Goldberg, Nico Swenson, Grace Christenson, Josiah Thompson, Jason Kornelis, and Josie Lampone. As artists, we believe in changing the political world by using the vehicle of art and distribution. In our current decade of struggle and protest, art and history are vital weapons for changing an unjust system. With this production, we are using those weapons.
Come journey with us back to 1942 to experience and learn about this revolutionary group of people! SUPPORT THE RESISTANCE and please copy and distribute this message!
