Art of the Car Concours
The Art of the Car Concours is on June 26, 2016 from 10:00 - 4:00pm. The Art of the Car Concours is a benefit for the Kansas City Art Institute Scholarship Fund. The Concours features more than 200 vintage, classic, and special interest vehicles, including cars, trucks, race cars, motorcycles, and pedal cars. The event is unique for a major national concours in having no formal judging and no classes of vehicles. The vehicles are showcased on the grounds of the Kansas City Art Institute, an eclectic and informal setting that avoids the pressure of traditional concours events. Each year we have a special feature. The 2016 exhibition will present "Total Performance Powered by Ford." This will celebrate Ford's "Total Performance" promotional program of the 1960's and the 50th Anniversary of Ford's 1-2-3 Victory at the Le Mans 24-Hour Endurance Race in 1966. Ford-powered cars win the Indianapolis 500, Grand Prix Drivers and Manufacturers' World Championships, numerous NASCAR races, Sports Car Club of American National Championships, and top-level drag races. One week before the Concours, Ford will return to Le Mans with a competition version of its 2017 Ford GT. Early admission starts at 8:00am and allows you to see the Exhibitor vehicles as they enter the show field. It is an opportunity for photographers to shoot before large crowds arrive. The purchase of the Admission - Scholarship Patron ticket includes a $20 ticket and $100 donation.
*SPECIAL NOTICE* Dogs are not permitted on the show field or surrounding grounds of the Art Institute, unless they are recognized as service dogs.
