A touching, gently humorous study of a precocious adolescent's "coming of age", in which fantasy and reality are deftly juxtaposed to heighten the affecting message of the play. First produced, to critical and popular acclaim, by the Philadelphia Festival Theater for New Plays. "It is a tender, fragile account of a teenage girl's break with childhood". Playcrafters Theatre Company is thrilled to be welcoming our four cast members, new to our stage; Lisette Ruch, Kevin Clyne, Dennis Keeley, and Grace Benedetto to this touching new show. Come on down to warm yourself and your heart on a cold winter's night.
A personal note from our director:
"Like you, before reading, Moon Over the Brewery, I thought the play's name odd. I never heard of it. However, upon reading, and rereading, I was struck by the charm and universality of it's message. So, I signed on to direct. When you know so many people in the theater community, it is unusual to encounter four actors with whom you have never worked. Each of these actors exhibited that "something special" at the audition that impressed and touched me. I'm sure they will do the same for you. If you are tired of seeing the "same old" shows over and over, take a sip of "Moon Over the Brewery". I think it will quench your thirst for a new theater experience".
