Peter Pan 2016
Help Vivid Motion support The Center for Grieving Children in Portland for the second year in a row by joining us for our dance company's unique interpretation of Peter Pan! Bring your entire family to enjoy the classic tale of pirates, lost boys, fairies, and the magic of never growing up. Peter Pan is directed and produced by Brigitte Paulus, President of Vivid Motions Board, who delighted audiences as Wanderlust in Vivid Motions Seven Voyages of Sinbad. Using a myriad of dance forms, from lyrical to hip hop, Vivid Motion gives J.M. Barrie's children's classic their own innovative and kinda quirky touch. Thanks to the generosity of local company Seacoast Scaffold, VivMo dancers get to battle with Captain Hook's pirates, flitter with Tinkerbell and her fairies, cause trouble with the Lost Boys, swim with the Mermaids, and fly with Peter Pan across elaborate sturdy scaffolded sets of waterfalls, bunk beds, pirate ships, and tree houses. Starring Artistic Director Ali Berry as the mischievous Peter Pan and John Larson as the long-haired scallawag Captain Hook; Peter Pan features all local dancers and choreographers, including students from Longfellow and Westbrook Elementary, Lincoln, Bonny Eagle and Bath Middle, as well as WCLZ radio DJ Jenn Gondek as Pirate Calamity Jenn. Come support the Center for Grieving Children by joining Vivid Motion on a fantastical dance journey through Neverland. Shows: 5/13 @ 7:30, 5/14 @ 2:30 & 7:30, 5/15 @ 2:30. St. Lawrence Arts, 76 Congress St. Portland. Tickets: $13 adults/$6 kids under 13, available www.vividmotion.org. Sponsored by Seacoast Scaffold, Fournier's Karate, Drouin Dance, Gorham Self Storage, Professional Loss Adjusters and Yelp! of ME.
A proud Buy Local company, Vivid Motion is one of Portland's quirkiest and most beloved dance communities. www.vividmotion.org
