The Love Shack
Writer Producer Director Paul D. Hannah with Executive and Co-Producer Kimberley Zulkowski brings a brand new hit play to Los Angeles! Two Shows only February 20th and 21st, 2016.
Paul D. Hannah, award winning film writer, producer and director brings a Broadway-style, full blown live gospel musical to Los Angeles. The production, which is slated for film production later in 2016, features a live band, dancers, award winning choir and the star power of Dave Hollister, lead singer of the legendary, platinum selling R&B group Black Street and prolific solo R&B and gospel artist; Grammy Award winning vocalist Ann Nesby; stellar vocalist, songwriter and producer Eric Dawkins; American Idol Season 12 winner Candice Glover, Trisha Mann-Grant, Damita Chandler renown gospel recording artist, screen veteran Billy Sly Williams, Jonathan Mouton, Yolanda T. Synopsis: The Love Shack is a hilarious gospel musical filled with exuberant singing, Joyful dancing and strong character performances. It's the story of Melvin Love, a famous R&B singer raised in a group home in Chicago. At age 13, Melvin started a successful career singing R&B music. Called to ministry, He eventually retired from singing R&B and opened a church (affectionately called The Love Shack).
Fast-forward ten years; he is still Senior Pastor at the Love Shack, but is challenged and convicted when a stranger accuses him of having too much entertainment and not enough substance in his services. Pastor Love, now conflicted with the resonating truth to the statement, fears the resentment that may result from toning his services down, realizes that the only way he can drastically change things is to do something extreme. A hilarious twist ensues as Melvin Love makes his way to his destiny.
