Shake the Bay 2016 Performance Workshop

Learn a fun Modern Fusion Belly Dance choreography by Amberetta to "Gold" by Kiiara in this two hour performance workshop. Some previous dance performance experience is recommended.
Workshop attendees have the option of performing this choreography to open the Shake the Bay show the same day as the workshop, Saturday, August 13, 2016.
Doors and workshop registration at 2:00pm.
Workshop from 2:30pm - 4:30pm.
Tech rehearsal at 5:15pm.
Show (and our performance) at 8pm.
Workshop attendees pay $25 to attend the workshop and do NOT have to buy a show ticket. Please direct friends and family to purchase show tickets. All funds after production costs go to the Alzheimer's Association. Please help us support this worthy cause!
The choreography will be belly dance at the core, fused with modern and jazz stylings. By necessity, it will be easy to memorize, but will provide layering challenges for more advanced dancers. There will be options for different levels of dance experience.
For class: Please wear comfortable active wear such as yoga pants and a tank top. Avoid excessive jewelry and clothing that hinders movement. Bare feet are preferred, but bring dance shoes if you need them. Bring a water bottle and healthy snacks. You do NOT need a yoga mat.
For performance: We will wear black, purple, and silver. If you have a purple, black, or silver belly dance costume, that works! If not, you may wear a tank top, leggings, and a hip scarf. Purple is the official color of the Alzheimer's Association; any shade of purple that you think works with the colors on alz.org and shakethebay.com will look great in the show. If you hate to wear purple, then stick with black and silver. This should be a fun experience for all!
