Le Bruit Court dans la Ville
Permit me to put a bee in your bonnet about Le Bruit Court dans la Ville (The Buzz Around Town) flying into town to celebrated the release of their second CD, 'Les Vents Qui Ventent' (The Winds That Blow), as hI've a notion you'll be over the moon by this honey of a trio and will give them a swarm welcome. Their eponymous first album 1996 and lively performances defined for a generation the Quebecois sound and influenced countless younger musicians, such as Le Vent du Nord's Nicolas Boulerice who wrote, 'They are our mentors. When Le Bruit play, it's as if the music of Quebec were part of their DNA.' The illustrious luminaries of master musicians and bons vivants who comprise Le Bruit are melodious singer, glittering guitarist and atomic clock foot percussionist Andre Marchand who is often referred to as the Godfather of the Quebec folk music revival through forming the esteemed ensemble La Bottine Souriante, earthy singer accordionist & harmonica player Normand Miron from the heartland of Quebec music, Lanaudiere, and fiery, feisty, American fiddler Lisa Ornstein who brings the zeal of the convert, having learned the music from old masters in kitchen sessions until dawn. As Irish fiddler Kevin Burke has said, 'Lisa, Andre and Normand are fantastic musicians and audiences cannot fail to be charmed and entertained by them.'
