Featuring the Adam Lane Trio
with Adam Lane on bass, Nick Lyons on alto sax, and Billy Mintz on drums

Adam, whose daughter is a 6th grader in MS 51's Dance Department, is a bassist, composer and improviser known for his "abiding sense of lyricism and heavy-groove power," according to Jazziz Magazine. His music is "genuine, accessible, fun," says DownBeat, and is "deeply in touch with...sheer tonal beauty."

Lane's special guest on vocals for the evening will be Vicky Finney Crouch,
whose son is a 6th grader in MS 51's Drama Department.

We want to both ensure that the party is accessible to all and
encourage donors who wish to give more to the Drama Department to do so.

Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple.

A sliding scale is available -- just check with John McEneny.

The "seats" are metaphorical, not actual, and serve as thanks for your support.

MS 51's amazing drama program provides a comprehensive three-year education in theatre for more than 200 middle school students. Under the leadership of John McEneny, the department produces four large-scale and many smaller-scale productions each year, providing cultural enrichment to the entire school community of more than 1,000 students and their families. Money raised at this year's fundraiser will enhance the production values of the shows and support the hiring of professional coaches to work with the drama students.  

The Powerhouse Arena is a beautiful, glass-fronted independent bookstore, gallery and events space with soaring 24-foot ceilings in DUMBO. Owners Susanne Konig and Daniel Power, parents of an 8th grader in the MS 51 Drama Department, are generously donating the use of the space for the second year in a row. They have another Powerhouse on 8th Avenue in Park Slope.

The food and wine, donated by dozens of local businesses, is guaranteed to be delicious.
