Bookswap with Paul Lisicky
BOOKSWAP featuring PAUL LISICKY!
Booksmith is thrilled to welcome Paul Lisicky, author of Famous Builder and The Burning House. He'll be joining us at Bookswap to celebrate the release of The Narrow Door, a memoir about friendship, love, and loss.
Lisicky pays careful attention to the constellation of people moving in, moving through, and moving on from his life. The Narrow Door explores friendship among artists, through distance and catastrophe, and what it means to be truly vulnerable.
So, this time around, we're asking you to bring a book about friendships. You'll talk about it in groups, and hear about the books that other people brought. At the end, we'll have a big, rowdy, white elephant swap, and you'll leave with a new favorite.
We'll also have local artisan cheese, per uszh, this time from Tomales Farmstead Creamery! In 2013, Tomales Farmstead Creamery began producing artisanal goat and sheep cheeses from their organic farm in Marin County. Since the dairy goat and sheep industry is still in its infancy in the US, Toluma Farm is doing their part to move the industry forward in the Bay Area and provide an amazing product as well. They are committed to educating kids and adults by offering tours on the first Sunday of each month and an array of other events.
