2016 Annual AMTA-Idaho Convention
Join us at the Clarion Inn of Pocatello for outstanding educational opportunities from world class presenters!
This year, we are offering a pre-convention workshop - Touch for Health I, taught by Larry Green, May 11-12.
We will kick off the festivities with a no-host Meet and Greet and a Vendor Expo. Come and network with our amazing presenters, your AMTA-Idaho Board members, and fellow therapists from throughout the Northwest. The Expo promises to be a fun and engaging event with raffles, door prizes, vendor booths, and even a photo booth where you can mug with your therapist besties! Our annual AMTA Convention Banquet will be held Saturday evening. There will be a fund-raiser benefiting the Massage Therapy Foundation through a silent auction for some fabulous massage-related items!

Touch for Health I - Presented by Larry Green
This pre-convention workshop is for laypeople and health professionals. You will learn the art of muscle testing and the basic procedure to balance the body's muscles and acupuncture meridians as presented in Dr. John Thie's book, Touch for Health. Learn skills to increase your energy level, reduce stress and pain, increase mental clarity,. and enhance immune system function. The basic balancing system includes how to test and correct 14 muscles/meridians, including the spinal reflexes, neurolymphatic reflexes, neurovascular points, and meridians. You will also learn how to assess nutritional support for the muscles and how to effectively reduce emotional stress and pain by touch. (NCTMB approved for 16 CEUs; Idaho Bureau Of Licensing approved for 8 CEUs)
If you have already taken Touch for Health I and would like to retake it, please contact us (contact info listed below). You qualify for a special rate once you send in a copy of your certificate.

Touch for Health II - Presented by Larry Green
This course builds on the skills taught in level 1. Learn 14 new muscle tests and additional corrections especially helpful for back pain, strengthening the core muscles, and assessing the legs and neck. The Five Elements Theory and Midday/Midnight Law from acupuncture will be applied through a process for muscle and meridian corrections. Three self balancing techniques will be taught along with other pain control skills and shortcuts to improve efficiency. (NCTMB approved for 14 CEUs; Idaho Bureau Of Licensing approved for 4 CEUs)
Please note: Touch for Health I is a pre-requisite for Touch for Health II.
Larry Green is one of the most experienced Touch For Health Kinesiology instructors in the country. Larry has been teaching and using Touch For Health Kinesiology for 25 years, and is the creator of the Miracle Workers Training. You can find more at www.USkinesiology.com
Pregnancy Massage: "Nurturing the Mother" Spa Course - Presented by Claire Marie Miller
In this course you will learn anatomy and physiology for pregnancy and birth, pregnancy massage demonstration and practice, cautions and contraindications for pregnancy massage, guidelines for pregnancy massage for each trimester, massage cautions and variations for high risk pregnancies, and post-partum massage with the principle of Mother Roasting, the application of heat along with specific bodywork techniques for the recovery and realignment of the mother. (16 hours, 16 CEUs)
Ethics - Presented by Claire Marie Miller
In this cooperative setting the group will learn to discern appropriate ethical choices as a massage therapist. Through discussion and questions, this Ethics course will support creating the template for making "balanced professional choices." (3 Hours, 3CEUs) This 3-hour Ethics class is included with full registration, or may be purchased separately.
Claire Marie Miller's pioneering work with pregnancy, postpartum, labor, fertility, and infant massage was born out of personal experience and her passion for the creative process of birth and healing. She has been involved with the Health Profession since 1974 when she began work as a radiologic technician. In 1979, she graduated with honors from the Boulder School of Massage Therapy. Cancellation Policy: All refunds will be handled directly by AMTA-Idaho and will not be issued until the event has been funded, which is approximately 2 weeks after the end of the convention. Refunds will not be granted if cancelling within 2 weeks of the event. In the case of a "No Show," no refund will be granted.
