An Evening of Jazz
Join Congregation B'nai Tikvah for An Evening of Jazz. We're honored to welcome Marina Pacowski. Marina was born in France, has a Master's Degree in music education and is currently professor of Music at the Conservatory Maurice Ravel in west Southern France. She is a classical pianist, jazz vocalist, and actress. She performs concerts all over the world. The program will contain jazz tunes, a duet with Cantor Jennie Chabon, as well as classical piano solo repertory.
Cantor Jennie Chabon joined the clergy team at B'nai Tikvah in 2004 and has recorded 3 albums of Shabbat music with her Shir Joy band. She developed her love of music early playing violin and singing in the SF Girls Chorus, recording, touring and competing internationally in choral festivals and competitions. While in cantorial school she discovered a deep love of liturgy and the desire to make prayer accessible to all.
Harry Wittenberg, a past president of B'nai Tikvah, founded their in-house band, The Tikvah Tones. He's played bass with a variety of bands including blues, rock, jazz and funk.
Admission includes French wine and cheeses.
