Fruit Trees "101": Basic Fruit Tree Care
Learn the basics of bare root fruit tree planting, irrigation, fertility, and pest management with Orin Martin and Sky DeMuro of UCSC's Alan Chadwick Garden. Learn about which varieties work best for your microclimate. This workshop takes place at the UCSC Farm on Saturday, February 20, from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm. Please note: This workshop was rescheduled from its original date of January 16 due to inclement weather.
Online registration costs: $30 for general public, $20 for Friends of the Farm & Garden members, $15 limited income, $5 for current UCSC students. Or pay at the door (cash or check only): $40 for general public, $30 for Friends of the Farm & Garden members, $20 limited income, $5 for current UCSC students.

Please note that a separate workshop focused on winter pruning of pome fruit trees (apples, pears, etc.) will take place on January 30. On February 6 we will offer a workshop on stone fruit pruning (peaches, plums, apricots, etc.). These workshops will take place at the UCSC Farm on the UC Santa Cruz campus.
