Criminal Justice Reform: From the Black Silent Majority to Black Lives Matter
Join us on Wednesday, December 2, for an exciting and intimate conversation with Michael Javen Fortner, author of the recently published Black Silent Majority: The Rockefeller Drug Laws and the Politics of Punishment. Professor Fortner joins historian and CUNY distinguished professor, Professor Joshua B. Freeman for Criminal Justice Reform: From the Black Silent Majority to Black Lives Matter, about the creation and consequences of the Rockefeller Drug Laws.
One of the fall's most discussed and provocative new books, Black Silent Majority: The Rockefeller Drug Laws and the Politics of Punishment has been continually highlighted in the press, including The Chronicle of Higher Education, The New York Times Book Review, The New Yorker, The Brian Lehrer Show, and Dissent Magazine.
