Vashon Beethoven Quartet Project
Resident string quartet for Vashon Chamber Music is the Girsky String Quartet: Artur Girsky and Natasha Bazhanov (violins), Julie Whitton (viola), Rowena Hammill (cello). Girsky, Bazhanov and Whitton are all Seattle Symphony artists, Hammill is cellist for the Los Angeles Opera. In Fall of 2015 they embark on the Vashon Beethoven Quartet Project with the goal of presenting all the string quartet masterworks of Beethoven in chronological order. They will perform one Beethoven quartet on each concert which will be paired with complementary repertoire.
