Bob Milne is an internationally known ragtime pianist who has been designated a National Treasure. He can sit down and play a tune after hearing it only once. He never practices and never has. He says, "What fun is it playing to the four walls? I can't perform without an audience." He has played for audiences all over the world, presidents and generals, dignitaries at home and abroad, and came to be named a Musical Ambassador by the U.S. Department of State.
Bob says it has been an exciting journey, and he has enjoyed every minute of his colorful career. His ragtime is wild and spectacular, or tender and soul-stirring, and his "insider's view" commentary draws the audience in. The tunes play in his head a split second before his fingers transfer the music to the piano. "Whatever comes in my mind, I do." He plays everything by ear and in different keys.
