Irish, Cajun, and Long-bow/Appalachian Fiddle Styles Workshop with Doug Goodhart
This amazing fiddle workshop by master musician and world-music professor, Doug Goodhart, will explore multicultural fiddle styles from Ireland, Brittany, Mexico, and Appalachia in this affordable and fun workshop in Tucson, AZ.
Multi-instrumentalist Douglas Goodhart has spent the last 35 years performing and teaching the world's music... He studied tin whistle with Irish uilleann piper David Page and played in Page's historic ensemble, The Siamsa Gael Ceilli Band. Doug has also extensively studied the fiddling of Michoacán, Mexico, with Atilano Lopez and Dimas Camilo. He has spent years performing Cajun fiddle in Southwest Louisiana, and in France learning and performing fiddle and traditional French music. Doug was director of Center for World Music, an arts organization dedicated to performance and pedagogy of many world traditions including those of Ireland, France, Spain, West Africa, the United States, Mexico, Cuba, and Brazil.
From 2007 Doug has been on staff at Zoukfest, an Irish and eclectic music week in New Mexico, where his classes are among the most highly-rated by students.
