Carols of Peace and Joy

From the youngest Mini Glee singer to our exquisite high school women's ensemble, the four choirs of the Northern California Children's Chorus will present familiar carols such as Carol of the Bells, The Christmas Song, and Caroling, Caroling. Other songs, perhaps less familiar, but just as seasonal include We'll Dress the House, Mary Boy Child, and Sans Day Carol will open the concert.

Composer John Rutter is a favorite of Artistic Director, Judy Britts. Two choirs will combine to delight our audience with Dancing Day, a collection of English carols with full chorus, solos, and duets, accompanied by harp. The title piece speaks of the birth of Christ as a day for dancing! The lilting melody combined with the intriguing harmonies become even more dance like with the sweeping arpeggios and exciting glissandos of the harp.

We are thrilled to once again have Dr. Beverly Wesner Hoehn perform with the NCCC. Three years ago, our singers were privileged to have her accompany Britten's, Ceremony of Carols. Dr. Wesner Hoehn performs regularly with the Modesto Symphony, Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra, Music Circus and other music organizations in northern California. We hope that you will join us as we welcome in the holiday season with an afternoon of music.
