AsEA Conference
Welcome to the Asian Educators Alliance 2016 National Conference, our sixth AsEA national conference! We are excited to bring back the conference after an eight-year hiatus. From its dynamic choice of conference speakers, leadership panel, various workshops, and interest-based breakout sessions, the 2016 AsEA National Conference Planning Committee has created a conference that continues the grassroots traditions of past AsEA conferences. We will focus on bringing together API (Asian/Pacific Islander) educators from across the country to celebrate our individual and collective successes and to address the various challenges that we face in our schools and communities. The conference, titled "From Self to Solidarity," will both address the needs of individual growth and provide a venue for fellowship and networking while tackling various issues such as leadership development, supporting API/multiracial students, the "model minority faculty," family culture vs school culture, and microaggressions, We are confident that you will find this conference a welcome venue to explore and challenge yourself and ultimately build solidarity with like-minded educators.
