Washington Contemporary Ballet celebrates the holiday season with our annual production of The Nutcracker. This full-length classical presentation of a family holiday favorite includes Tchaikovsky's memorable score and choreography by Kay Englert.
The magical Herr Drosselmeyer arrives at Clara's house with presents, dancing dolls, and a nutcracker. In her dreams, Clara and her Nutcracker battle the Mouse Queen and an army of mice. They arrive in the Land of Snow amongst a blizzard of dancing snowflakes. In the Kingdom of Sweets, Clara and her Prince are entertained as the dancing candies come to life.
