Ms. Chisato SEINO is an avant-garde SENRYU-Poet, as well as a butoh dancer since 1980's. SENRYU is a 250-years old form of traditional Japanese poetry which tends to be about human foibles, while haiku tend to be about nature. Senryū is often cynical or darkly humorous.
Katsura Kan is a Butoh dancer from Kyoto, Japan. Kan began his career as a butoh dancer with the seminal butoh group Byakkosha in 1979. He left Byakkosha in 1981 to organize a multinational Dance Company called "Katsura Kan & Saltimbanques". Kan organizes Academic Butoh Conferences all over the world for the next generation of Butoh.
Chisato challenges the legacy of traditional SENRYU, by showing the Ontology of Flesh "here" and "now", in this moment.

Yusho Seiryu
Seiyu Yusho is Priest of Jodo-Shinshu Hongwanji faction, Shofukuji priest of a buddhist temple,
Yagi nursery school director, Kobe Tokiwa university guest professor, and pianist. Born in 1958. and graduated from a Schumann Academy of Music piano department.
The Vangeline Theater has been a leader in the development of contemporary Butoh dance since its founding in 2002. Informed by the expansive vision of pioneering choreographer Vangeline, the Vangeline Theater brings to life a timeless and uniquely American style of Butoh that continues to captivate audiences.
Since its inception in 2002, Vangeline Theater has fused the post-apocalyptic vision of Butoh (the Japanese dance form that developed after Hiroshima) with the near-cinematic aesthetic of 21st Century science-fiction noir. The company has been heralded in several national publications (New York Times, Los Angeles Times) and won an honorable mention from Time Out Chicago for one of the best dance visits of 2011.
The Vangeline Theater's mission is to educate the public about Butoh, promoting an understanding Butoh dance history and its social and cultural significance; to connect Butoh to other art forms and disciplines and to build community through Butoh.
