The daily schedule of events is as follows:
Friday March 18:
- Convention open from 1 pm to 5 pm
- Meet and greet party from 6 pm to 8 pm (FREE EVENT!)
Saturday, March 19
- Convention open from 10 am to 6 pm
- CelebriTea from 2 pm to 4 pm
- Time Traveler's Ball from 8 pm to 1 am
Sunday, March 20
- Convention open from 10 am to 5 pm

With Spring in the air, the Air Ships are gathering around the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, Nevada. The passengers and Air Ship crews are in for a rare treat. They have arrived to attend a Steampunk Convention designed by High Desert Steam to delight the senses and amuse the mind. Open from Friday, March 18 to Sunday, March 20, 2016, the event features:
- Master of Ceremonies Doc Phineas, Guest star of Pawn Stars and Steampunk Personality Extraordinaire,
- Featured Maker: Sidney Eileen, Couture Corset Maker, teaching workshops and panels,
- Featured Artist: Ave Rose, Competitor on "Steampunk'd", displaying her wondrous mechanical devices and wearable art and taking part in panels,
- Featured Artist Killbuck,
- Featured Artist Jerry Snyder,
- Star Wars Steampunk Universe,
- Vendors,
- Authors,
- Steampunk Art,
- Steamy Nerf Arcade,
- Tea Dueling,
- On-stage and roving Entertainment, and
- Workshops and Panels.
On a limited basis, we are offering a CelebriTea as either an add on ticket to your Silver Gear Pass or Saturday Wristband or as part of your Golden Gear Pass. The CelebriTea will be hosted by our founding member, Vivian Dare and her Thévandières. In addition to our esteemed host, each table will include a celebrity host. The earlier you buy, the more likely you are to be able to pick the host you want to spend personal time with! The CelebriTea will also include a Prettiest Tea Cup Contest, so be prepared with your best tea cup! There will be merriment, Davidson's Organic Tea, sweets, tea dueling, a gorgeous view of the mountains, and entertainment. Don't miss out on this special event! Please note that tickets for this event must be purchased in advance of the event so that catering can be given a proper head count.
For the first time ever, we are able to offer you box lunches! These lunches will be delivered to the Con area where you will be able to trade your lunch ticket for a lunch. All lunches must be purchased in advance and are offered to you at just under our cost (seriously, we rounded down)! No need to go down to the casino floor, find a place to eat, and waste your precious Con time! Just pick up your lunch and get back to having fun. All lunches include either bottled water or a soft drink. The lunches we will have available are:
- The Mexican: Reno's Best Veggie Wrap, Bean Salad, Fresh Whole Fruit, Tortilla Chips with Salsa, and Cookies;
- The French: Roasted Turkey Breast with Dijon Mustard and Red Onions on Baguette, Red Potato and String Bean Salad, Fresh Whole Fruit, and White Chocolate Brownie; and
- The Italian: Grilled Rosemary Chicken on Focaccia Bread, Mediterranean Pasta Salad, Fresh Whole Fruit, and Cookies.
On Saturday evening, March 19, the Nevada Cadet Band, the first known formal music ensemble at the University of Nevada, will present The Time Traveler's Ball. We are expecting traveler's from any time, any place ... any universe. Ball proceeds will be used to buy the band uniforms appropriate to the group's founding year of 1888. Badges and Tickets are available for the Con and the Ball events as either separate or combination tickets.
Participant preregistration is available now, so save money and buy your HDS Con Participant Badge immediately! Onsite tickets will be available at a higher price point.
