THE COASTERS From 1956 to 1961 The Coasters released a string of classic singles that reflected the lives of American teenagers with their keen wit and hot, rocking harmonies. Invariably those songs were written, produced and arranged by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The Coasters placed 14 songs on the R & B charts, 8 of which crossed over to the pop Top 40. From 1957 to 1959 the Coasters unleashed a half dozen singles that dominated the charts in one of the most formidable runs of the rock and roll era: "Searchin", "Young Blood", "Yakety Yak", "Charlie Brown", "Along Came Jones", and "Poison Ivy" to name a few.
JOCKO MARCELLINO of SHA NA NA They may not have invented rock nostalgia, but this original founding group member has very successfully celebrated the music and the memories for the past three decades in clubs and in concert, in the movies and on TV, and on albums.Their story is an all-encompassing one: Marcellino was in the original Woodstock Festival lineup, starred in "GREASE"(the most successful movie musical),and along with his band members hosted the "Sha Na Na" TV series for four years, and still play more than 100 concerts a year from casino showrooms to mega-corporate functions. Marcellino remains true to the original concept: Rock'n'Roll is here to stay! Just a handful of their popular tunes include: "The Bop," "The Twist", "The Stroll", "The Hand Jive", "The Monkey", "The Jerk", "The Cha Cha", and "The Hokey Pokey".
